Rowe Price sound masking across seven office floors AET designed and commissioned a multi-floor sound masking system for T. Rowe Price, supporting open-plan areas, meeting rooms and corridors across a growing workplace. Client T. Rowe Price Sector Financial services Scale Over 425 speakers across 7 floors Environment Ceiling void system covering meeting rooms, corridors and open-plan areas 425+ Speakers installed 7 Floors covered 60 Speakers per floor initially 1 Bespoke Elite system ### The acoustic challenge T. Rowe Price needed to reduce speech transfer across open-plan working areas, where phone conversations and travelling voices could distract teams. The project began on one floor before expanding to seven floors, covering meeting rooms, corridors and open-plan spaces. 01 ### Initial floor deployment AET began with around 60 speakers on one floor before supporting the wider rollout. 02 ### Multi-floor expansion The system expanded across seven floors as the workplace requirement grew. 03 ### Ceiling void configuration Speakers were installed within the ceiling void, firing towards the slab to create an indirect masking field. 04 ### Bespoke Elite commissioning AET commissioned the Elite system to industry standards across all supported areas. Outcome ### Consistent acoustic support across seven floors The system helped T. Rowe Price manage speech transfer and acoustic consistency across a larger financial services workplace. #### Open-plan focus Sound masking helped reduce the impact of phone conversations and travelling voices. #### Meeting room support Meeting spaces were included within the system to support speech privacy. #### Bespoke control The Elite system was specified around the scale and requirements of the project. #### Unnoticed introduction The system was installed before staff occupied the space, helping it become part of the environment. > The system was installed before staff moved into the space, allowing sound masking to support the workplace without feeling like a later intervention. What is sound masking? Sound masking introduces a carefully controlled background sound that makes speech less intelligible and reduces distraction. Where can it be used? It can support open offices, private offices, meeting rooms and other spaces where speech privacy or focus matters. How do we start? AET reviews the workplace, understands the privacy or comfort challenge, then recommends an acoustic approach for the space.
